Montreal Global Jam.

Ubuntu Quebec is hosting an Ubuntu Global Jam in Montreal this weekend!

I invite everyone to come see us at SUPINFO Montreal to help testing, debugging, or even writing documentation for Natty Narwhal. You don't need to be a developer to help: any help is very welcome; as long as you're sufficiently curious to try out Natty in "Live" mode from a CD or USB key and to help us find and describe issues. If you would like to write documentation for applications or functions you think aren't as clear as they should be, that's great too! And if all you want is to get to know more about Ubuntu, we won't hesitate to show you around :)

It will be held on April 2 and 3 from 11h to 17h at SUPINFO Montreal (752 Sherbooke W). Let them know you're coming on the LoCo Directory.

Kitchener Ubuntu Global Jam

Ubuntu Waterloo is hosting our third Ubuntu Global Jam, Saturday, April 2 at Kwartzlab.

The Global Jam is a worldwide event to make Ubuntu better. Ubuntu 11.04, the Natty Narwhal will be released in a little over a month and the Global Jam give the community (that's us) a chance to help find bugs, triage them and fix them.

Ubuntu Hours

Ubuntu Hours are springing up across the country.

There are two in Ontario this week:

If you want to see an Ubuntu Hour in your town, just start one! Just pick a time and place, put it up on the LoCo Directory and let any local Ubuntu or Linux users in your area know about it. It's a great way to meet other Ubuntu users and contributors. You might be surprised at who will show up.

New website!

Welcome to the new website for Ubuntu Canada!

Don't mind the occasional glitch or problem (actually, do; I'll get back to that). We're still working on it.

This will be the best place to find out about what's going on in the Ubuntu community all across Canada. Watch here for news, events and ideas on how you can get involved.

Speaking of getting involved, if you want to help out with this website, the first step is to join the website Launchpad team. That'll get you on the mailing list where you can ask to get access. Also, if you run into problems, please let us know by posting bugs there. We need writers, Drupal theme designers, and plugin developers if we decide we want to do something really cool.
