Ubuntu Canada LoCo

The next release of Ubuntu, 9.10, codenamed "Karmic Koala", is due out later this month!

The Release Candidate was released yesterday, if you're willing to test not-yet-finalised software, go get a copy and play with it! The final version will be out in about a week for those of you who'd prefer to wait for the real thing!

There's a strong tradition of Release Parties with each new version of Ubuntu, and we'll try and get as many Canadian parties some publicity here!

Wondering about Ubuntu in Vancouver? Think big meetings and lots of new members!

We're growing fast. In a few short months since our last update we've added dozens and dozens of members to our group, which is now likely the biggest in Canada.

Ubuntu enthusiasts in the beautiful Kootenay region of BC are proud to announce the formation of Ubuntu Kootenay. Our group offers help and support to Ubuntu users in the region. The towns of Nelson and Caselgar, Trail, and the greater Kootenay region are included in its coverage. Nelson and Caselgar are quickly becoming hot spots of Ubuntu activity with many recent installs. Ubuntu Kootenay is affiliated with the Ubuntu Vancouver team, adding strength in installation and support activities to Vancouver's marketing muscle.

The Linux Fredericton group will be meeting again! We'll be meeting on Friday, May 15th, at 8:00pm. Location will be downtown Fredericton at Reids Newsstand, across from Kings Place. If you're in the area, come join us!
