IRC Meeting IRL

This Tuesday is our monthly IRC meeting. I'd planned to have the Waterloo Ubuntu Hour this week as well. But a conflict on my usual Wednesday and the fact that April is kind of a busy month in Ubuntu LoCo land conspired together to give me an idea.

How about we hold the IRC meeting in a public place, and allow other Ubuntu people to join in? And we can just hang out afterwards. So that's what we're doing.

Tonight at 7pm I'll be meeting up with Ralph at Kwartzlab for the IRC meeting and then we'll stick around to chat about the release party, politics (undoubtedly), or anything else people want to talk about. You're welcome to join us.

Ubuntu Hours

Ubuntu Hours are springing up across the country.

There are two in Ontario this week:

If you want to see an Ubuntu Hour in your town, just start one! Just pick a time and place, put it up on the LoCo Directory and let any local Ubuntu or Linux users in your area know about it. It's a great way to meet other Ubuntu users and contributors. You might be surprised at who will show up.

Lucid Release Party Toronto Tonight (May 6th, 2010)

Thursday the 6th from 7 to 9 PM HackLabTO will be hosting a small,
informal Lucid release party.

Bring snacks, a machine you want to install Lucid on (we have a
netinstall server!) or just your smiling happy self!

The HackLab is located at 170A Baldwin Street in Kensington Market,
above Graffiti's Bar, next door to Cobs. For those taking the TTC, take
the Spadina car to Nassau (one stop south of College); for those
driving, there's some street parking, and a Green P lot http://parking.greenp.com/ accessible from both Baldwin and St Andrews streets.
